The City of Kenner, Department of Community Development, offers a FREE service to homeowners, renters, and landlords to remove lead-based paint from housing units older than 1978. We can help you determine if you have a lead-based paint hazard in your home or rental unit built before 1978 through the following:
•Free lead inspections at your home
•Free blood testing of children (finger stick)
•Free remediation of lead hazards at your home or rental property.
If tests are positive for lead-based paint, our staff along with a contractor will work with you to develop a plan to control and/or remove the lead paint hazards.
